Alternate Universes Galore

Asuka and Kureno from the gender-bender Naruto RPG that I'm always drawing stuff for. This was drawn for the Asuka-player Zuul, who is totally responsible for me becoming obsessed with this pairing. (To be fair, I'm responsible for her obsession too.)

This collage is proof of such obsession as one of our favorite things to do with this AU pairing...is put them in more AUs. To give a run-down of the ideas behind each one, I'll give a short synopsis of each, starting on the top left.

Cookies: Growing up together as two normal kids, Asuka would be the mischief maker without a doubt and Kureno can just wonder how he always gets roped into helping.

High School: This is actually from a brief AU made for the entire RP once where the setting was high school. Kureno and Asuka were teachers who shared the same commute.

More High School: A similar idea on the high school AU, but instead of both being teachers, Asuka is a student who probably gets into a lot of trouble. Hence why Yuuhi-sensei has to keep an eye on her.

Genin Team: Growing up together on the same genin team. Zuul and I had both thought an Inuzuka would work best as their third teammate, so it's not so random. We never figured out a sensei though.

Defendant/Lawyer (middle left): Kureno as a convict? Asuka the lawyer? Because for once I wanted to see Kureno the one in trouble and Asuka bailing him out. ...And because I shamelessly wanted to see him in the orange jumpsuit (despite not coloring it) and handcuffs. Don't ask why he's hugging her though. At the time, I also wanted one fluffy scene. Not sure I picked the right one...

Secret Agents: How could I not envision them as spies?! Ninja practically equals national security agents! Kureno was better suited as the tech-specialist and Asuka the guns. Speaking of guns, ignore the way I didn't choose any model and just made something remotely firearm-like.

Chinese (bottom left): No story idea. I just wanted to draw Asuka actually looking feminine and sexy, and Kureno with long hair. I think the braid really suits him!

Vampire: I swear this was NOT inspired by Twilight. The idea of Kureno playing the part of a vampire has been in my head for a long time now.

Model: How could we not have come up with an AU where Kureno truly puts those good looks to work as a model? And Asuka is, of course, his agent. I'd actually like to draw more of this AU, as I'd actually have excuses to put Kureno in whatever clothes/poses I wanted. ...hehehe.

And that's it! I had made space for one more, but...I ran out of blue lead and became impatient for more, so I'm calling it done! Hope you enjoyed! ...Or at least pitied us for being so obsessed.
